BENNIGAN'S MONTE CRISTO

12 slices white bread
6 slices turkey breast
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 slices cooked ham

Build six sandwiches in this order: slice of bread, slice of turkey, slice cheese, slice ham and top with remaining slice bread. Cut all sandwiches into quarters, using wooden picks to keep them together.

Batter
3 C. flour
2 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 2/3 C. water
2 eggs, beaten
Crisco for frying
Confectioners' sugar
Raspberry jam

Combine all dry ingredients into a medium bowl until blended. Add eggs to water, then stir into flour mixture. Dip each quarter sandwich into batter and fry until golden brown. remove wooden picks and dust with confectioners' sugar and serve with jam.
